Welcome to the Berner-Garde Foundation Database.

This collection of information is the heart and soul of Berner-Garde. A year ago, The Berner-Garde board made a determination to totally revamp the database technology. It was a huge project that cost a moderate amount of money and lots of time and effort.

Basically we have moved the database to higher capacity technology and made it directly available via a web based application.That means that at anytime, anyone can view the database. And I'm talking about the CURRENT database, that all of our operators update directly.

For those of you who are return visitors to this website, you will notice many many changes. The format is certainly different but most importantly, all of the information contained in the database is now available for your review.

While we cannot provide instant modifications to information you provide on-line, we hope that you will agree that the changes made are a huge step in the direction of information sharing. Our hope is that seeing the database in its entirety, you will be compelled to not only update, but to correct and add information that is missing. Only with complete data can we provide the information necessary for researchers to adequately study our beloved Bernese Mountain Dogs and their genetic diseases.
